We aim to provide this U-Value Calculator
as a handy tool for checking the heat transfer of your building
structure designs and plans. As part of on-going developments
we will be rolling out a series of updates to create a set of
free, useful tools for everyone including designers, architects and engineers.

Select projects and U-Value Calculations from the drop down lists.
You can edit the projects address / description and U-Value Calculations.
Select a saved U-Value Calculation from within a project to enable load, delete, copy and share.
Set / Edit the default environmental settings.
New U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon clear the form and start a new U-Value Calculation.
A new form will loaded, displaying the project previously used.
The building use, build type and element will be retained.
Save a U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to save your U-Value Calculation.
The U-Value Calculation will be saved to an existing group with the same reference, or a new group will be created using the reference entered.
If no reference has been entered, today's date will be used as a group reference.
If the U-Value Calculation is saved, the U-Value Calculation form is automatically cleared ready for the next U-Value Calculation.
If the U-Value Calculation had been saved previously then re-loaded, the appropiate U-Value Calculation will be updated.
To save a loaded U-Value Calculation to a new group, change the reference displayed top right.
Delete a U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to delete the U-Value Calculation displayed in the form.
To delete a saved U-Value Calculation, first load the required U-Value Calculation prior to deletion.
Use with caution, as this cannot be undone and the saved U-Value Calculation will be lost.

Material Selection
Use the dropdown list to choose a material and enter it into the form.
The materials are arranged by material types and then by manufacturer.
The materials listed are filtered to show only the materials relevent to the element (wall, floor or roof).
Hovering over a listed material will display the materials U or R value to assist selection.

Enter a minimum of 3 letters to start search. Materials are listed by popularity.
Select the required material from the list displayed to load into the form.

How to use the Project and U-Value Calculation Manager.
Delete a Project or U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to delete the Project or U-Value Calculation.
When displaying the project Address, all U-Value Calculations within the Project will be deleted.
When displaing a saved U-Value Calculation, only the displayed Calculation will be deleted.
If a project contains only one U-Value Calculation, the whole project will be deleted.
Use with caution, as this cannot be undone and the saved U-Value Calculations will be lost.
Load a Saved U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to load your saved U-Value Calculation into the form for review.
The loaded U-Value Calculation can then be edited and saved, overwriting the the original.
Copy a Saved U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to copy your saved U-Value Calculation into the form.
All materials and settings will be loaded into the form without any project information.
You can then add to an existing project by entering a saved project reference.
Share a Saved U-Value Calculation.
Click on this icon to share your saved U-Value Calculation.
Enter a valid email address and a subject heading
Click on the send icon to share.
A summary of the U-Value Calculation will be sent to the recipient.
The U-Value Calculation will be made public enabling users who are not registered to be able to load the calculation into the form. However your saved calculation cannot be edited or changed except by you. To view the calculation, the unique code provided in the email link is required.
